The Third Dream Pathway: Non-Dream Dreams

For lack of a better term I have called these other night time memories non dreams. You will find, when you start paying attention to what you have experienced while sleeping, that sometimes you awaken and you just know that “That was not a normal dream.” At this time what I can say about these is that they are valid, often have no symbolic meaning, are very interesting, and there are numerous types of experiences you may be having.

Some of these experiences are what is commonly called astral traveling. This occurs when one actually leaves their body and goes off traveling through various places of consciousness or dimensions. Some people find leaving their body to be quite easy and do it frequently, while others of us rarely do that, or rarely remember doing it. There are many types of things that one can do in the astral realms. Some people report sightseeing, exploring, or simple having fun flying around; some of their experiences are very interesting or just novel. Sometimes there are discernible purposes for astral traveling, such as checking in on a loved one or friend, warning a loved one of danger, or seeking information that is needed. The stories abound. If you are interested in reading about this subject, author Robert Monroe has a number of books about his excursions. Any good bookstore will have many books on the subject as well. One thing to note about astral traveling is that we remain connected to our physical body by what is called the silver cord. We cannot get lost, and it will snap us back if necessary, because apparently there are some “neighborhhoods” out there that we might want to avoid, just like in the waking state.

Sometimes we go to classes, actually studying various subjects. I personally once remembered sitting in a “classroom” with bleacher-type or tiered seating and being shown my role in a particular period in history. I remembered no details upon awakening about what my role was, I am sure it was because I had no need to know, for whatever reason. There was nothing I could determine to be symbolic, so I just accepted it at face value, and as the years have gone by I have had a moment or two, or three, when I got shivers at the mention of this time period. I don’t know anymore than that and accept it as such. Things are more than they seem, and there is more to life than meets the eye. If I need to know more, I trust the memory will be triggered or the information made known to me.

So, we can be learning over there and we can also be teaching. We might be doing service work, helping other beings and souls who are having difficulties of one sort or another.

Over the years I have often encountered people who say we have parallel lives going on, and alternate realities. I maintained an open mind on these ideas, but as time goes on, I have come to believe this is probably true. Every now and then unusual things happen, or odd feeling will come over me, and they fit those descriptions of “bleedthroughs” from these other existences.

You might have what seem to be dreams, that have no symbolic significance that can be discerned, and an odd or unusual “sense” about them. Sometimes you will notice houses, buildings, scenery and other elements that seem to show up time after time, but are “somehow different” than one’s waking life. Sometimes there will be shreds of memories that are so odd that nothing seen or heard there can be brought through, it just does not translate. I have come to accept that these are from other places of consciousness or dimensions and literally don’t translate into this one, so I make note in my journal that it happened and let it go.

Maybe at some time in the future we will understand more about these other dimensional lives. Or maybe not. For now, it is important to know that not everything you remember after sleeping has a specific message. Some of it is just interesting, and there is clearly a lot we don’t know.

Note: Although these articles can help you a great deal, many of the concepts are best learned in person from Julia herself. If you are interested in a workshop, class, or an individual session, please contact Julia!
